Wedding Expo Music Performance

What a day we had yesterday!  The University Club in SF hosted a wedding expo for event planners, etc. to come together and showcase their services.  Peachy’s Puffs was a sponsor, so we hired two girls to work the event.  They wore their flashy red bell hops.  Dez and I were able to play a set as well in the lobby while guests trickled in.  We had rented a PA system, but found we didn’t even need it due to how small the actual space was.  We certainly learned our lesson.  When in doubt, go scope out the venue, if local, before a gig to ensure whether or not a PA system is necessary.  We played some originals including “Dear Prudence” (The Beatles) and “Heaven” (Warrant).  Unfortunately, we couldn’t play some of the more iconic love songs due to Dez’ A string breaking.  That had never happened in all the time we’d played together.  Thankfully, it was not a paying gig, so at least it was less of a foul-up.  It led us to reason we should always carry spare fully strung instruments.  The dressing room upstairs was quite the scene, with Brazilian diamond-encrusted Samba dancers in feather headdresses and a Chinese dragon dance troupe as well as an Asian wine server decked out in Victorian garb, pearls hanging her dress.  It felt like a backstage setup for America’s Got Talent.  I was highly entertained.  All in all, it was a successful event, despite a few hiccups.  Stay tuned for more articles!

Grand Opening of Saks Off 5th Store on Market Street!

And it was only a week ago…  Saks Off 5th opened on Market Street near the Westfield Mall and Nordstrom Rack!  Soo exciting!  The DJ was spinning Snoop’s new hit “So Many Pros” outside the store.  I perused the racks and found a Saks Gray cashmere-like baseball tee with pink sleeves that said “Cupcakes, Champagne, and Chanel.”  I just had to get it!  The other purchase was a pair of nude studded flat sandals by Saks for only $25!  My eyes popped out of my head at the sight of the price tag.  Sure beats going on BART all the way to the Livermore Premium Outlets in Pleasanton!  Come one come all to the oh so fab Saks Off 5th store in SF! <3<3<3

Google/Youtube Video Project for Skunkfunk in the Haight!

Today was epic in every way possible!  I went to the Haight-Ashbury Skunkfunk clothing store after winding up at the Mission store by accident for a Youtube/Google video project.  I met two other fantastic models, who including moi, made up a killer trifecta for the afternoon shoot!  I had worked with Brandyy Sky at the other store for a promo window modeling gig.  Apparently, her father gave her the name ’cause of his love of Brandy and Sky Vodka!  Too funny.  The other girl Kelly Shepard was a Fiona Apple lookalike with a rad sense of humor.  My first outfit was a multicolored jungle theme dress that tied in front.  The second look was a red and blue striped form-fitting dress.  I joked to Kelly that I felt like a Betty homemaker with my very own blueberry muffin tray bending over a hot oven!  I brought my fire and seductive Marilyn edge to the filming session in front of a black backdrop and then inside one of the dressing rooms.  Later, we filmed on the street and got our last shots doing runway prowls up Haight Street!  So many giggles were had.  I enjoyed most the friendly and playful nature of the team and everyone’s willingness to share the spotlight.  I got a lovely $100 store credit for my participation.  Stay tuned for the video footage!! <3<3<3

Mac Beauty Expo in Union Square!!

I love love loved the Union Square Mac demonstration on both Saturday and Sunday!  The show was fantastic, including sexy male models in orange Speedos singing and doing laundry onstage and throw soap around!  I enjoyed getting my lips and eyes done!  The rose champagne eye shadow and rose pink lipstick were wonderful tones for my light skin.  I liked the non-flaking mascara the makeup artist put on best!  I always use cheap drugstore mascaras like Loreal which crumble once they’re dry.  Take-away products from the sessions are: Rosy Rym Lip Liner, Please Me Lipstick, Painterly Eye Primer, Practice Makes Perfect Eye Liner, etc..  Great products overall and long lasting wear!

Promo Modeling!

My lovely friend Michelle Shim owns a high-end clothing boutique in the east mall of the Japan Center Mall called Harajuku on the 2nd floor.  She gave me this beautiful faux fox fur jacket with faux leather stretchy sleeves.  The designer is Bardot and the coats go for a little over $200.  Make the perfect statement with black leggings or blue jeans and black boots!  Happy shopping!

Glamorous in Green Fashion Show at the ZK and Eden Gallery in SF!

What an evening I had last night at the ZK and Eden Gallery for SF Community Fashion Week!  We had “green” hors d’oeuvres, including water from the sap of a Birch tree and granola bars.  I took some glamour shots and mingled with a few photographers I had done runway shows with previously.  It was fun checking out Betty Boop and Popeye art and as well as neat looking sculptures by Roy Lichtenstein.  The show took place next door and I got a seat in back.  The first section of the show was the work of four designers with various earth-friendly get-ups.  It was quite an evening to remember!  Coming up tonight is Glamorama at Macy’s and Saturday is the “Couture for a Cause” runway show!   Stay tuned…
