This past weekend in Prescott, Arizona was truly magical! I enjoyed dancing with fellow alumni at the Prescott College dance reunion weekend. I stayed with 3 different alumni and ate awesome organic vegetarian food! Dance has been a major part of my life since I was young. I grew up taking ballet, modern, tap, and jazz at Dance Innovations in Chatham, NJ. I did a lot of performances at nursing homes and benefits and some competitions. One summer, I spent time in Philly at the University of the Arts doing a summer intensive program, which was amazing. The Prescott College program gave me the tools to be creative and improvise on the spot with movement and Dance Innovations gave me the technical foundation to perform, which is so essential to the art of learning dance. Peachy’s Puffs, the candy/cigarette company I work for in SF, is hiring vintage dancers to do the Lindy Hop and Charleston during the holiday season, which I’m thrilled about! Since this past weekend in Arizona, I’m looking forward to taking classes at the Arthur Murray studio! Stay tuned for more posts! ❤ ❤ ❤
A must in a world of imprecision! I can’t predict fog or sun in the bay, yet I can def control the shape of my liner… Flawless Cosmetics by Sonya are infused with the magic ingredient aloe! I’ve been wanting a liner that melds exactly to the lash line and can go big or subtle. I like makeup products au naturel anyway. I hardly ever touch cream foundations or anything that could clog my pores. I’m a minimalist in the making. Just a sweep of liner and mascara over the eyes and colored gloss for the lips. DONE! I recommend this lovely applicator for the makeup enthusiast. I’m a perfectionist after all. Better not flake or smudge! Back in Jersey, rocking to Springsteen! I’m geared up for some visits to the Big Juicy Apple, and of course the blessed Short Hills Mall Mecca!!! OMG. Great great retail opportunities, plus Duncan Donuts coffee/crumb cake experiences… The outfit I’m jamming in today is modeled after the rock n’roll summer festival wear! Guns N’Roses long sleeve black tee, BDG lace-up denim cut-off shorts, Sam Edelman gold chain sandals, and Just Cavalli big celebrity shades! Long live plastic fantastic NJ! Going to go to listen to the “Jersey Girl” version of Aqua’s “Barbie Girl” hit now… <3<3<3
Today was epic in every way possible! I went to the Haight-Ashbury Skunkfunk clothing store after winding up at the Mission store by accident for a Youtube/Google video project. I met two other fantastic models, who including moi, made up a killer trifecta for the afternoon shoot! I had worked with Brandyy Sky at the other store for a promo window modeling gig. Apparently, her father gave her the name ’cause of his love of Brandy and Sky Vodka! Too funny. The other girl Kelly Shepard was a Fiona Apple lookalike with a rad sense of humor. My first outfit was a multicolored jungle theme dress that tied in front. The second look was a red and blue striped form-fitting dress. I joked to Kelly that I felt like a Betty homemaker with my very own blueberry muffin tray bending over a hot oven! I brought my fire and seductive Marilyn edge to the filming session in front of a black backdrop and then inside one of the dressing rooms. Later, we filmed on the street and got our last shots doing runway prowls up Haight Street! So many giggles were had. I enjoyed most the friendly and playful nature of the team and everyone’s willingness to share the spotlight. I got a lovely $100 store credit for my participation. Stay tuned for the video footage!! <3<3<3
I love love loved the Union Square Mac demonstration on both Saturday and Sunday! The show was fantastic, including sexy male models in orange Speedos singing and doing laundry onstage and throw soap around! I enjoyed getting my lips and eyes done! The rose champagne eye shadow and rose pink lipstick were wonderful tones for my light skin. I liked the non-flaking mascara the makeup artist put on best! I always use cheap drugstore mascaras like Loreal which crumble once they’re dry. Take-away products from the sessions are: Rosy Rym Lip Liner, Please Me Lipstick, Painterly Eye Primer, Practice Makes Perfect Eye Liner, etc.. Great products overall and long lasting wear!
Happy Halloween!! My inspiration is Britney Spears and the denim outfit she work with JT on the Red Carpet. I visited Closet 1951 on Union Street after lunch at the Rotunda at Neiman’s and talked to the fabulous store owner who certainly has New York Vogue taste! He showed me a Marc Jacobs denim bustier that laces up in back. I fell in love instantly! Next, I found a denim stretchy mini skirt to match. It was meant to be. Like dating, you know when you’ve found a supreme match. Nothing in life is perfect, but you get close! I found a gold chain rhinestone necklace to match at Jest Jewels, the best accessories store in town! To complete the look, I’m thinking of denim pumps, a denim purse, and a rhinestone cuff bracelet. It really is the best day of the year!!!
My new favorite! The Revlon Colorstay lacquer balm crayon. You can skip the thin pencil to outline those luscious lips plus regular lipstick you finish with to complete the look. I love how the color is vivid for hours! I especially love the dark red shade called “Standout.” It gives your face a dark, mysterious, and alluring quality!
