Ready to Wear by the Bay Fashion Show at the Supper Club!

Last night was an incredible evening!  Lots of flirts from men, chocolate and vanilla flavored cake I got to take home with colorful balloons, tons of glamour shots with some photographers I had worked with previously, a painter with gold harem pants who looked like Sinbad, and acrobatic dancers hanging from the ceiling!  The Supper Club is not typically open on Sundays, but they made a special exception for Community Fashion Week.  My outfit was sort of nautical Barbie with fake Chanel bling.  I had on a white pencil skirt from Zara with silver buttons on the front, a red, white and blue halter crop top, a Calvin Klein white fur coat, and Michael Kors white summer wedges.  The show featured 10 different designers.  My fave part of the show was the first collection, filled with fancy lace gowns and big hats, badass Madonna rosary beads, and cool metal dangling headpieces.  Stay tuned for more fabulous Fashion Week events!

Glamorous in Green Fashion Show at the ZK and Eden Gallery in SF!

What an evening I had last night at the ZK and Eden Gallery for SF Community Fashion Week!  We had “green” hors d’oeuvres, including water from the sap of a Birch tree and granola bars.  I took some glamour shots and mingled with a few photographers I had done runway shows with previously.  It was fun checking out Betty Boop and Popeye art and as well as neat looking sculptures by Roy Lichtenstein.  The show took place next door and I got a seat in back.  The first section of the show was the work of four designers with various earth-friendly get-ups.  It was quite an evening to remember!  Coming up tonight is Glamorama at Macy’s and Saturday is the “Couture for a Cause” runway show!   Stay tuned…

CCSF Midnight Metropolis Runway Show 5/18 at Ruby Skye in SF!

Vanna White 2 Vanna White 1

What a show Midnight Metropolis turned out to be!  I arrived and found that the designer I was modeling for had no outfit for me, so a couple students took me on a shopping excursion, which lasted two hours and we wound up going to five big stores.  We finally found a red dress with slits and a halter at Forever XII and then rushed back to the club so I could do hair and make-up.  Since I was not going to walk in the show, the fashion crew decided to make me a greeter and sell canvas fashion dept. bags up front with Diane Greene, the head of the department.  Later, I went on stage and did the raffle with the main host and supermodel/runway coach Charleston Pierce as a Vanna White character.  I had fun walking up and down the runway beforehand and getting glamour shots!  The show went well.  There were about 52 models walking the catwalk as well as some Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet dancers performing for part of the show.  I went through quite a fire storm that day, but when things fall apart, they are really just falling into place.  The end result was truly magical!

Academy of Art Runway Casting in Bayview

I did an awesome runway casting at Academy of Art for one of the top shows in the city!  They were looking for extras for the show.  I didn’t get picked, but I felt like a real winner walking on the long Victoria’s Secret style runway with a big video screen capturing us as we walked back!  I had a Giant’s stadium moment from when I had done a color guard performance during my senior year of high school.  There were so many cameras on cranes zooming in to capture the models as we strutted down the catwalk.  It was a magical moment I won’t ever forget!  Bless Charleston Pierce for inviting me and a few other models to be a part of this special opportunity!  We had some glazed donuts and Starbucks coffee to get fired up before practice.  Big thanks to Joanna Hidalgo, the director, who gave expert instruction on the choreography!  I hope to work with the AAU runway crew next year and be in the show!

80s Cyndi Lauper Runway Show at the City College Ocean Campus Cafeteria!

It was a neon kind of day at the CCSF Ocean Campus cafeteria, where people from my modeling class and some new models stepped up on blocks to Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!”  They gave me a Farrah Fawcett wavy hairdo and candy pink lips and blue eyeshadow.  The first outfit consisted of American Apparel spray-on mint pants with blue and white stripes on the sides, a denim wrap-around jacket with a hood, colorful bangles, and clear lens purple statement glasses!  Statement clear lens glasses are seriously in right now!  The last outfit consisted of a black pleather F21 skirt and black faux leather jacket, a creamsicle orange tank top, aviators, and Vivienne Westwood bright blue pumps.  It was hot as hell outside, but we had quite a successful show!  Stay tuned for the next City College fashion show happening next Tuesday same time same place!
