Anya Braid Bar

Several months back, my boyfriend and I took his daughter Trinity to a cool trending braid bar at the Glendale Mall called ANYA Braid Bar.  They were there for a limited time and have since relocated to the Nail and Hair Bar at Bloomingdale’s.  Appointments are recommended, so we showed up at the mall just in time to get Trinity a braiding appointment.  She chose a neat light blue hair extension, which is her favorite color, to be woven into the Boxer Braids, which came out to $45 total.  The price includes the two boxer (Dutch braids), an $8 Kanekalon installation fee, and the single pack of extensions.  The young woman who braided her hair did such a beautiful intricate job.

ANYA Braid Bar sells gorgeous head pieces in addition to their braiding services with charming flowers, iridescent crystals, and other soft accents.

Braiding styles are for men, women, and children alike.

The prices can range from $15-35 depending on how intricate the braiding is.

Crystal Braid

Soft Dutch Braids with rhinestone and silver accents for $26

Free Spirit Braid

Free Spirit Braid for $30

Trinity

Boxer Braids with Blue Extensions for $45

They also do private events like weddings or birthdays and special themed events if requested.  Classes are offered during the summer for anyone who has an interest in learning the art of braiding.

Same day appointments have to be made by phone and future appointments go by e-mail.

Ready to Wear by the Bay Fashion Show at the Supper Club!

Last night was an incredible evening!  Lots of flirts from men, chocolate and vanilla flavored cake I got to take home with colorful balloons, tons of glamour shots with some photographers I had worked with previously, a painter with gold harem pants who looked like Sinbad, and acrobatic dancers hanging from the ceiling!  The Supper Club is not typically open on Sundays, but they made a special exception for Community Fashion Week.  My outfit was sort of nautical Barbie with fake Chanel bling.  I had on a white pencil skirt from Zara with silver buttons on the front, a red, white and blue halter crop top, a Calvin Klein white fur coat, and Michael Kors white summer wedges.  The show featured 10 different designers.  My fave part of the show was the first collection, filled with fancy lace gowns and big hats, badass Madonna rosary beads, and cool metal dangling headpieces.  Stay tuned for more fabulous Fashion Week events!
