I’ve been a Peachy’s Puffs candy girl for a while now. This corporate party for Linear (company that supplies stereo/lighting equipment, etc. for major corporate parties) at the Fairmount Hotel was off the chain! I was dressed in a black mini pencil skirt from F21, an “I Love the 80s” black off the shoulder top, bright bangles, white bobby ruffle shuffles, Bebe slingback black heels, a bright pink bow headband, gold spiky hoop earrings, and bright pink lipstick. The outfit couldn’t have been more 80s Madonna. I spent two glorious hours of the evening handing out multicolored feathered boas, boxes of mints with neon robots on them, light up rubber rings, and white shutter celebrity shades! The rings and boas were a hit, and it was as though the people at the event were ravenous children trying to pull the boas off of my neck and hungrily grab for light up rings. There were various rooms with different decades of music playing. One room had the casino with flapper dancers in Marilyn Monroe wigs doing the Charleston and teaching the steps to brave party members. The other room was quite “13 Going on 30” with a dance troupe doing the “Thriller” routine. Later, the 90s music was blaring out of mega speakers, an homage to Barbie Girl. Life in plastic, it’s fantastic! Another area had Guitar Hero video games and another spot had a stage where people could get their red carpet glamour shots! Some Asian businessmen asked me to pose on a stool in pictures so they could be taller than me, calling me a “Movie Star!” More party favors were up for grabs later to win, such as mondo blow-up blue, pink, purple, and orange microphones as well as blow-up 80s boom boxes! It was a night I will always know as the glitter train party of all decades!
1. Where and when were you born?
October 9, 1986. John Lennon’s birthday! 🙂 I was born in Edison, NJ and raised in Chatham.
2. What was the best job you’ve ever had? And the worst?
The best job I’ve ever had is modeling. Everything from print to promotional modeling! Love being in front of a camera and wearing classic outfits! The worst job I had was working at Chevy’s across the street from my apartment in SF as a hostess. I quit the day I started because I got hardly any training and had a mean controlling boss. 😦
3. What’s the best vacation you’ve EVER taken?
One of the best vacations I’ve taken was to Captiva Island off the coast of Florida. I was about 10 or 11. My family and I stayed at our NJ friend Thelma’s house for a week right on the white sand beach. It was so quiet and beautiful, and the sunsets were stellar!
4. What’s the most recent movie/book that you’ve seen/read?
I recently saw Casino Royale with Daniel Craig. He is such a dreamboat! OMG. I’d give anything to be the next Bond girl and have Daniel Craig pick me up in his hot ride and sweep me off my feet!
5. Tell us about your first kiss.
My first kiss was in Middle School. I kissed this guy Alex in my grade on the cheek in the lobby after seeing a play. He was the definitely a player, always touching girls’ butts in the hallway. He was my first crush.
6. What’s your favorite town/city in the world? Why?
One of my fave cities is Waikiki Beach in Oahu and the other one is Paris! I love the white sand, palm trees, and world famous Mai Tais at the Royal Hawaiian. Snorkeling in hidden reefs, sailing with gorgeous tan island men, and watching the surfers at North Shore were some of the highlights of my trips to the island, as well as shopping downtown at Neiman’s with Asian big spender tourists!
7. Share with us a fun experience you’ve had recently.
I had a fun time getting a complimentary limo ride to the doctor on Friday and having my Starbucks paid for by the driver! It was nice to be glamourous for a day! He wanted to date me, but I told him I was taken, so I went on my merry way. I went to an amazing birthday party later that night at the Rye Bar near the financial district. Valentina, an Academy of Art photographer, who has taken pictures of me at runway shows, introduced to some amazing artists, musicians, and photographers!
8. Sing a few lines of a song you love. (Don’t tell them the name; let them guess)
Flowers in her hair, she don’t care
Peach-pink lips, yeah, everybody stares
You think you’ve seen her in a magazine
It’s like she walked right out of your dreams
9. Tell us your earliest childhood memory.
I remember having a princess party for my birthday at my house in Chatham, NJ when I was 5 or 6. My best friend Tracey who I had shared chicken pox with came in a pretty pink gown and I wore a yellow Belle gown from Beauty and the Beast and a pink feather boa!
10. What’s your favorite sport or physical activity?
I looove to ski! I started in Vermont when I was 5. I’ll be on the next plane to Utah or drive up the road to Lake Tahoe!!
11. What’s your favorite dish to cook for friends? For just you?
I love to make homemade pizza with fresh mozzerella, my Mom’s homemade sauce, whole wheat dough, and lots of herbs and other toppings!
12. Describe the best museum/concert/play/game you’ve ever been to.
I loved seeing Phish in concert when I was in high school at the Continental Airlines Arena in NJ!
13. What’s the worst haircut you’ve ever had?
I have luckily never had a horrible haircut! Phew..
14. What’s your morning ritual like?
Get up at and do my eyeliner and mascara, plan my outfit for the day, spritz myself with Lady Gaga’s Fame perfume or Victoria’s Secret Bombshell, morning coffee at Acre Coffee around the corner, and plug into the Britney Pandora station.
15. If you could invite four famous people to dinner, who would you choose and why?
I would invite Jesus, cause he’s cool and holy and has magical powers and would save anyone if they got too drunk. Then I’d invite Joan Rivers because she would keep the evening fun by going around and seeing if everyone’s outfit passed inspection or not. I’d let John Stewart tag along because he always gives such witty and clever commentary on the controversial political scene. Lastly, I would invite Britney Spears because she is a world class performer and pop sensation! She would close out the evening with a hit like “Womanizer” to enliven the guests!
16. Which person in your life do you most admire? Why?
I admire my Dad the most because he is multi-talented and has a wicked wit at family dinners! He is the rock of the family and has a lot to say about the ever-volatile and rapidly changing stock market. He grew up shooting bebe guns in Fairfax, VA, drinking martinis since age 3, and hanging out with his country clubbing parents and their friends. He works hard and has the spirit of a true western-going frontiersman and can play a mean sax like Charlie Parker!
17. Share a personal fact no one would ever guess about you.
I can do the worm backwards, as I demonstrated at a talent show in high school.
18. Share one bizarre encounter you’ve had in life (could be at work, personal, from travel, with friends).
Yesterday, I saw a spiritual looking Indian man with a white robe and turban and a long bright orange beard. But in SF, it’s Halloween all the time, as my Dad would say!
19. Describe an embarrassing moment you’ve had.
My Mom came home from doing errands one day and heard me losing my virginity to a guy. I rushed into the bathroom and covered myself with a towel. I saw the guy a few more times after that, and moved on. We had met at a coffee shop in Nob Hill and he was from South America. Needless to say, he was just in it to have fun with me and soon quit calling.
20. If you could replay a fun (or deep or big) moment in your life, what would you choose?
Going to Dorney Park in PA and seeing O-Town in concert there with my middle school posse! I heart boy bands and amusement parks!!
I happened upon a major sale at Guess in the Westfield Shopping Mall in SF and found that they were selling brightly colored fringe bodysuits. I bought the hot pink one immediately. I dressed it up with Lucky Brand light wash ripped jeans, a light wash Gap denim jacket, and Guess pink and gray python trainers. The bodysuit was only $20! 80s Barbie is here to stay!
It was a neon kind of day at the CCSF Ocean Campus cafeteria, where people from my modeling class and some new models stepped up on blocks to Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!” They gave me a Farrah Fawcett wavy hairdo and candy pink lips and blue eyeshadow. The first outfit consisted of American Apparel spray-on mint pants with blue and white stripes on the sides, a denim wrap-around jacket with a hood, colorful bangles, and clear lens purple statement glasses! Statement clear lens glasses are seriously in right now! The last outfit consisted of a black pleather F21 skirt and black faux leather jacket, a creamsicle orange tank top, aviators, and Vivienne Westwood bright blue pumps. It was hot as hell outside, but we had quite a successful show! Stay tuned for the next City College fashion show happening next Tuesday same time same place!
