Meditation

World of loss,

Hanging on

Regret.

Pinned to

Misfortune,

A life many

Shall hold.

Formulated

Days,

Something won

In slight.

Fixation on

Doom,

A reel of

Indifference

To what

Proceeds.

Brought to the

Altar,

A wine for the

Crying ravens

Of Night.

Rusted Pennies

Had she tricked them

Of their card stacks?

Poker,

The game an

Endless empty stare

Can win.

Are those men the

Damned dogs

Love fought to

Recapture?

Salvages to squeeze

From liars’ handshakes.

A cheater’s hug,

The backside

Of truth.

What were all the

Whores’ names?

The hidden bank

Accounts ruptured at

The seams.

Wild nights lain

To waste.

And it won’t be long

Before now

When the

Glow of propriety

Will be thrown to its

Harsh wind,

And faith will scatter

Unto fountains being drained,

Exposed pennies rusted in the

Light.
